Close and comprehensive cooperation, mutual support for development

(QBĐT) – On the afternoon of October 24, in Dong Hoi City, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) of Quang Binh and the Department of Labor and Social Welfare (DOLISA) of Khammouane Province (Laos) held talks and signed the first memorandum of understanding for the period 10-2024. Attending were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units of the two provinces of Quang Binh and Khammouane.

At the meeting, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Binh and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Khammouane discussed and exchanged views on the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general and the two provinces and departments in particular; informed each other about the socio-economic development situation of the two provinces; the organizational structure and results of each side’s task implementation.

After exchanging, discussing and proposing specific contents to continue promoting the cooperative relationship in the coming time, the two sides agreed to sign the first memorandum of understanding for cooperation, period 2024-2026 with specific contents, including: Continuing to strengthen the cooperative relationship, maintaining meetings, exchanges, and sharing experiences in management, professional and technical activities (held alternately every 2 years, the next time in 2026 in Kham Muon province). 

Through the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Binh province and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Kham Muon province, the two sides will increase the exchange of information on achievements, progress and development plans, experience in organization, direction, management as well as professional and technical activities according to the functions and tasks of the two departments, especially prioritizing the exchange of issues of interest to the leaders of the two provinces.

The two sides closely coordinated in information and propaganda work on the special and traditional solidarity relationship of the two Parties, two States, two provinces, and two units; advised the leaders of the two provinces to continue to care for and support each other when facing difficulties due to natural disasters and epidemics in order to cooperate and help each other develop together.

The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Kham Muon advised the leaders of Kham Muon province to propagate and mobilize unions, social organizations and people to coordinate, provide information, support and help the forces of Quang Binh province to continue searching, collecting and moving the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Lao PDR; pay attention to, create favorable conditions and support workers of Quang Binh province who are living and working in Kham Muon province.

The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Binh advised the leaders of Quang Binh province to pay attention to and support livelihood models, give gifts to poor households, people with revolutionary contributions and students on both sides of the border of Noong Ma village cluster (Bua La Pha district, Kham Muon) and Thuong Trach commune (Bo Trach, Quang Binh) according to the program of twinning residential clusters on both sides…
