Talks and signing of the first Memorandum of Understanding on management, professional and technical activities

(Quang Binh Portal) – On the afternoon of October 24, 10, in Dong Hoi city, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) of Quang Binh province and the Department of Labor and Social Welfare (DOLISA) of Khammouane province (Laos) held talks and signed the first Memorandum of Understanding for the period 2024 – 2024. Attending were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units of the two provinces of Quang Binh and Khammouane.

At the meeting, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Binh and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Kham Muon discussed and exchanged on the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general and the two provinces and the two departments in particular; informed each other about the socio-economic development situation of the two provinces; the organizational structure and results of the implementation of each side’s tasks. In addition, the leaders of the two departments informed the results of the implementation of labor work, job creation and vocational education, meritorious people, social protection, child care, and social welfare of the two provinces; at the same time, informed about the situation of labor migration across the Vietnam – Laos border. In addition, the two departments exchanged experiences in organizing the implementation of specialized fields; propagating and disseminating legal documents and legal regulations on the field of labor and social welfare; inspection, supervision and management of labor entry and exit across the border.

After exchanging, discussing and proposing specific contents to continue promoting the cooperative relationship in the coming time, the two sides agreed to sign the first Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the period 2024 – 2026 with the following contents: Continuing to strengthen the cooperative relationship, maintaining meetings, exchanges, and sharing experiences in management, professional and technical activities (held every 2 years, the next time in 2026 in Kham Muon province).

Also at the meeting, the two sides exchanged more information about achievements, progress and development plans, experience in organization, direction, management as well as professional and technical activities according to the functions and tasks of the two departments, especially prioritizing the exchange of issues that the leaders of the two provinces are interested in in the information and propaganda work on the special solidarity and tradition of the two Parties, two States, two provinces, two units; advising the leaders of the two provinces to continue to care for and support each other when facing difficulties due to natural disasters and epidemics in order to cooperate and help each other develop together.
